Your first visit

You are most warmly welcome to visit us!  In fact if you, or a relative, is thinking of becoming a resident at Romans or at Rosemary Mount, then we positively urge you to visit first.  After all even the best brochure or website cannot convey the full experience of walking round, sitting in the chairs, talking to your future friends, tasting the food.

When you visit, you will probably bring a friend, relative or two or social worker with you.  They will be able to stay with you for the entire time.  You will be shown round the house, and in particular, the room that you might occupy.

This is a great time to ask questions, and we will be happy to take as long as you need.  You will also be able to meet the other residents and staff, chat and spend time with them.

The next step - forms

If you decide that you like the home, then you, or a suitable person, will need to sign the relevant forms beforehand, including a financial-admissions form.  At that meeting we will also provide you with a ‘statement of purpose’ and a ‘service users guide’.  Again we will go through these with you and answer any questions that you have.

In case you are wondering, the ‘service users guide’ clearly lays out all your rights, including a complaints procedure.  In essence it tells you how you can expect to be treated.  You can download these documents right now if you want.
