Are you looking for a friendly, clean and comfortable residential care home for yourself or a relative?
Since 1956, West Sussex Housing Society, a non-profit organisation, has run two of the most highly rated homes in Worthing and Southwick, providing long term care, short stay, convalescence and respite care in these retirement homes.
Our one aim is to provide ‘care, comfort and concern’ for all our residents - to make their time with us happy, dignified and stimulating.

Living at Rosemary Mount and Romans Care Homes
“ I enjoy living here at Rosemary Mount and I like bingo afternoons with the other residents ”

You will have your own comfortable room, with as much of your own furniture as desired - given the size of the room! You can spend time on your own or with friends in hobbies, conversation or various formal and informal activities.
Mealtimes at our houses are a particular highlight and are cooked in our own kitchens from locally sourced food. Our chefs create healthy and tasty meals to provide a balanced diet, but don’t forget the good old traditional favourites! We are happy to cater for any special dietary requirements that you may have.
Our staff are well trained, but just as important, are prompt, kind and friendly. They will always help without being overwhelming.
We have regular visits from a hairdresser and chiropodist, and have an outstanding occupational therapist. Both houses have activity coordinators who arrange all sorts of events and outings and keep up our links with local schools.
Health is so important. You are very welcome to keep your own GP, if local, or we will be happy to enrol you with a GP from our nearby practice.
We are really pleased when you have visitors either to see you at the home, or to go out with you shopping, or to some nice place in the country. We encourage links with family and friends and want to see them become part our extended community.
Non Profit - what this means to you
Most care homes are run by profit making organisations. This means that a sizeable portion of any fees is made over to the shareholders, and so is lost to the homes.
By contrast, West Sussex Housing Society is run on a non profit basis. This means that all surplus monies are used to keep our houses in tip-top condition and to keep your fees as low as possible.
